Another selection of great wines from Laithwaites that have been enjoyed at Grogger HQ. The Feudo di Maria Zibibbo was fresh and gruit, prefect from a muggy summers day and plate of fresh pasta with sage and lemon.
The Black Saint Peter, with its Black Sabbath embossing and mediaeval swagger, was like distilled essence of school shirt – Ribena, ink and youthful plump. Definitely our favourite label of the three, like Lemmy mouthwash.
Sonoma Stones was a Grogger favourite before, and has recently resurfaced much to our joy. Admittedly it’s a little sweet for extended glugging or for proper food (ie, food not from California) but it’s so smooth you could use it as a Slip’n’Slide. Naked.
