Ideas Illustrated

We were delighted to receive the latest edition of Ideas Illustrated from those cool kids at YCN. And we were even more delighted to find an article by Sir John Hegarty (of Bartle Bogle Hegarty fame, but you should know that already) about the importance of sustainable, organic and bio-dynamic wine production:

When bio-dynamics is practised it produces wine with more vivacity and flavour. The drawback? It costs slightly more to produce wine like this- like so many things in life, better is more costly. The answer therefore is to drink less, but to enjoy it more. What’s the point of purchasing those organic vegetables if the wine you’re enjoying them with is laced with chemicals.

You can read the full YCN article online here and or, even better, gather your pennies together and buy a proper copy of Ideas Illustrated here for a mere five of pounds!

And if you’d like to discover more about Sir Hegarty’s influence in the advertising and wine worlds, then we’d recommend reading this article from 2004 by Jancis Robinson. Written at the beginning of Hegarty’s foray into wine production, it gives an early indication of the now iconic Hegarty black sheep label.
