That’s about as close as Grogger has ever gotten to ‘authentic’ Chinese food. That is, until we went to a supper club hosted by Two Hungry Girl (@twohungrygirls). The girls, Leigh and Shu, are on a mission to bring creative Chinese cuisine to London. Having attended their last supper club, with perfect pillowy buns of Gressingham duck and fresh greenapple, super-sticky pork belly and a beautiful chiaroscuro of soy milk panna cotta and black sesame sauce, we can attest to the successes of their mission.
So, for the next supper club on Sunday 28th October, we are happy to announce that we will be teaming up with the THG to provide and evening of delicious Chinese dishes matched with a tasting of English wines. How does the the Chinese flavour profile of Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Spicy match with the fresh, cool-climate wines this green and pleasant land? Given that the rieslings and gewürztraminers of cooler climates like Austria and New Zealnd often provide the perfect wines for Asian dining, could English wine be an even better pairing? Join us as we find out!
